FOCUS... What Is Your Focus? What Are You Focusing On?

I was reading today in A Perfect Driven Life about focus.
It spoke on how Knowing Your Purpose, Focuses Your Life....
What really got my attention was a few paragraphs later where it says
"The power of focusing can be seen in light. Diffused light has very little power or impact, but you can concentrate it's energy by focusing it. With a magnifying glass, the rays of the sun can be focused to set grass, a bug or a piece or paper on fire. When light is focused even more as a laser beam, it can cut through steel."

That hit me, we all have great energy in us, but can do nothin with it until we focus on God and let Him focus our energy for His purpose. Take my favorite biblical character Paul The Apostle, once he focused on God and God focused all Pauls energy for His purpose, Paul almost single-handedly spread Christianity throughout the Roman Empire and wrote most of the New testament.
What was his secret, his life was focused...
"I am focusing all my energy on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead" - Philippians 3:13 (NLT)

What are you forcusing on?

I must say that this is a great and profound word! Thanks for sharing your insight on what you read. Even though we are reading Purose Driven Life together I realize that God is revealing different things to us individually. I am grateful for your focus AJ.. First and foremost GOD!! I have longed to have a man like that in my life for years and now my season has come. I realize that my focus is GOD first as well, then my journey to unite with AJ as one in union, then the movement that God has called me to support as well as I continue in my education and writings. In our history over time I have seen that beside every great man there stood a great woman.

Coretta Scott King, Betty Shabazz, Michelle Obama, Laurenna Crenshaw: my Pastor's wife, and Mahatma Ghandi's wife. These women help to empower their husbands in their journey to become all that God has called them to be. It all starts somewhere and it is not all peaches and cream...but because of these wives' diligent service unto to God and submission to their husbands, these men were able to make a great impact on the lives of many.

I see myself in a role just as these women are. I intend to do all I can to make sure that God's will is fulfilled through the life of my husband!! I also realize just as Michelle has said, I must observe those things that distract me and stay away from them. Unfortunatley at this point in my life it is PEOPLE, even some family members.. So I will continue to pray for them because they don't know the plans that God has for me only God knows....

Thank you for the opportunity to be able to share and release. I love you guys sooo much! Spiritual Minded has truly become my family!!

I'm focusing on getting where I need to be in my relationship with GOD. It's hard work but I'm working on it. I want people to see him when they look at me. So to get there im rying to study and pray more. I'm also hard at work on helping to build up christian hip hop and putting it on top where it belongs.
