Hollywood: A Place of Big Dreams or Where Nightmares Are Made by Alberta Parish

Lately, I’ve been reflecting upon a lot of crazy stuff that’s happening in the world. From the day the abortionist doctor was shot and killed inside a church on May 31, 2009 to the Iran elections protests that erupted into violence, thereby causing the lives of a few protesters to Michael Jackson’s untimely death as well as that of Steve McNair’s over some infidelity issue with a young girl that he should never have been dealing with to begin with, I’ve seen nothing but turmoil, tribulation, dehumanization of people, and the sensationalizing of horrific newsworthy stories being catapulted at me daily through television and the Internet. All we have to do is just go online, and we can pull up any country in the world, and see what’s happening in every country in the world. You get to talk to many different peoples from all walks of life, economic and ethnic backgrounds. And if you’re a writer like me, people get the opportunity to read your material from all over the world. Same thing if you’re an independent filmmaker, whether documentary or feature film, people from all over the world can see and study your material. Human beings are more close to one another – by way of the Internet – than at any other given time in the history of man, but yet we’re more destructive and hateful toward one another. If somebody wrongs us, we’re quick to fight or to harm. Even though the Internet has brought us more close to one another, we’re yet more far apart than ever.

I’ve been doing a lot of Internet surfing lately, because, well for one reason, I’ve been doing research on how to obtain a government grant while working on the proposal for the grant so that I can fulfill my dreams of starting my own self-publishing company and becoming an authorpreneur while also doing research on a certain dead pop star named Michael Jackson. I’ve been very enamored of him since his death, because I didn’t know he was heavily addicted to clinical drugs. Then, I’m seeing in the news that his cardiac arrest was likely caused by prescription drugs. So of course, in the beginning I’m thinking this man has overdosed on clinical drugs. Then, news about an anesthetic drug called Diprivan surfaces, and that this drug may have been administered to him. So I became even more fascinated with Michael Jackson. I wanted to know some things, so I started reading books and articles about him. Also, I was a fan briefly after his Thriller album came out. I was living in Miami at the time. During my research of Michael Jackson, I discovered again that he did admit to being addicted to painkillers in 1993 while he spoke live from Neverland Ranch proclaiming his innocence against the child molestation allegations that had been levied against him by a boy that he was friends with. He admitted to having become addicted to painkillers, which he first started taking in the 1980s after his scalp was burned while he was filming a Pepsi commercial. Now, I don’t believe for one minute that Michael Jackson ever molested anybody’s children. I think he was the victim of extortion period.

Based on all the material I’ve read about Michael Jackson, I have come to the conclusion that his personality was bigger than his life itself. He had too many sides to him, and there is no way anybody (except the people who were closest to him and whom he allowed to see him for the person he really was) can definitively say that, ‘I knew who Michael Jackson was.’ Many of us would like to believe that we knew who Michael Jackson really was, but we really didn’t know. The media really didn’t know who Michael Jackson was. Most fans who thought they knew the man really didn’t. Since the child molestation allegations of 1993, the media outright lied to us. Tabloid papers printed ridiculous stories of him as well as certain members of his family to sell papers and gain readership. I never could bring myself to believe the child molestation allegations from the start. I didn’t feel that strongly about it from the start, because in the back of my mind, I thought that it was all bullcrap anyway. I didn’t even pay too much attention to the hoopla surrounding it, both in 1993 and in 2003. The one thing that really stands out about Michael Jackson to me is the fact that he really, really, really reached out to his fans. He was really accessible to his fans. He really cared about his fans and what they thought about him as a person. When I heard him tell his fans at his last press conference how much he loves them and they really need to know that, I couldn’t quite believe that at the time, but during the course of my research on him, I really came to believe that he meant every word he said at that last press meeting. This man kissed fans on the lips just in regular outings (apart from being on tour), and didn’t actually take all of them back to his hotel room just to have sex with them. I’m not saying he never had sex with a fan, because I believe he had quite a few encounters with fans all over the world, and even had sporadic relationships with some, referring to a few females he dated back in the day, women who came in contact with him through either working on a music video with him or meeting him at a social function. You got to understand that Michael’s fans were also people who worked closely with him. Hell, his very close friends were his fans, also. Please listen to the lyrics of his song, In The Closet, which is about a woman who wants to come out of the closet, and be loving and touchy-feely with her man in public, and she wants everybody to know this is her man. However, he wants to continue to keep the relationship between them a secret. Michael Jackson indeed kept some of his romantic relationships in the closet over the years. He was an intensely private, guarded person in his personal life. He didn’t want the media and the whole world to know everything about him, which is also why he made many people sign confidentiality agreements, even members of his family. This man had kissed fans on the lips, and he did it just because he wanted to. How many other celebrities today do we know that are that close to fans only with the exception of when he or she is having sex with a fan? I know no celebrity like this, and Michael Jackson had more fame than all of them. In fact, these big pop stars really need to step up their game. That’s why a lot of them can’t sell anymore than three or four million copies of their albums, because they’re not really bringing it like Michael Jackson brought it.

There is a lesson to be learned not only from his life, but also from his death. And one of those lessons is that money does not equal success. Money buys you things. Cars, houses, people, even respect, but money cannot buy you happiness or self-fulfillment. Michael Jackson only found happiness and self-fulfillment through his work as an artist. He found that through his music and dancing. You can have all the money in the world, but money cannot save you from yourself or save you from self-destructing. In fact, money often fosters a person’s self-destruction. Money, to Michael, really didn’t mean nothing if he could not use his wealth to help others. So he gave away a lot of money to charity, bought a lot of people gifts – huge gifts. He gave away money to strangers. He opened doors for many of today’s top entertainers. But, in the end, it seems as though nobody really came to his rescue. Why is that? Now everybody want to speak out on how Michael Jackson’s death has affected them and how much he meant to the world of entertainment, but many in Hollywood knew that Michael Jackson was out of his mind on prescription drugs. He lived right in the Hollywood community, among many celebrity friends, on a street right off Sunset Boulevard. Sunset Boulevard was also where a famous movie star had lived in the 1950s named Jay Robinson who became addicted to uncontrolled substances like marijuana and later, heroin, and as a result, his career as an actor went downhill. Sunset Boulevard is a virtual hotspot for drug pushers (whether medical or illegal) and drug fiends, prostitution (both homosexual and heterosexual); you name it, and has been that way since the 1930s, maybe even 1920s. Whatever perversion one wants to get into, that can happen for you right on Sunset Boulevard and other hotspots all over Hollywood. Cruise Sunset Boulevard late at night, and you’ll see for yourself. Of course, it took Jay Robinson years (after battling drug addiction) to regain the respect of his peers in the movie industry, and then rebuild his career as well as his image.

Jay Robinson found fame with his role as the Roman Emperor Caligula Caesar in The Robe, which also starred Richard Burton and Jean Simmons. I read his autobiography years ago when I was in high school. The Comeback by Jay Robinson was a very good book, and it offers a lot of insight into the world of entertainment as it was in the 1950s as well as the drug culture that existed within Hollywood, in the Golden Age of the movie industry even then. And there are no exact sentences on Jay Robinson that has just been typed by me that has been lifted from his book, The Comeback. I don’t plagiarize. I have a good memory of certain stories, especially those that stand out the most. I remember that Jay Robinson almost died from a drug overdose. He went into a rehabilitation center, and got clean. He ended up giving his life to Jesus. He appeared years later in the movie, Dracula, also starring Gary Oldman and Winona Ryder.

Ironically, like Michael Jackson, the Roman Emperor Caligula Caesar was also an eccentric, but he was medically insane, too. Michael Jackson was NOT medically insane. He did have emotional problems, though. Also, like Caligula Caesar who was murdered by members of his entourage that were his praetorian guard, Roman soldiers assigned the task of protecting the Emperor of Rome from harm and assassination attempts, Michael Jackson was also killed by a member of his entourage, the man who was assigned to care for the pop star’s health, but failed miserably at it. Of course, he wasn’t the only entourage member who fostered Michael Jackson’s prescription drug addiction over the years. In 44 B.C., the Roman dictator, Julius Caesar, Caligula’s other relative, was also killed by members of his entourage, which were his trusted advisers and friends, inside the building of the Senate in Rome. I am a complete history buff.

The world is mad. Whenever a person can take a man’s life over a few hundred dollars and a championship ring, this person is somebody who has given up on life and doesn’t care about life, his or anybody else’s. The Atlanta-based boxer named Vernon Forrest who died on McDaniel Street where he had pulled his car into a gas station three weeks ago did not have to lose his life the way he did. It was a senseless killing, and I’m glad that one of the perpetuators has turned himself in to police authorities. Life is but a fleeting moment. This is why people need to get their house in order while they are still living, because even though many go to Heaven, there are many who also go to Hell. There are many souls that wind up wandering the earth as well. Many are usually people who did believe on the name of Jesus, the ones who had at some point confessed Jesus as Lord God and Savior before they died, but they were not born again of His Holy Spirit. Jesus does promise us eternal life if we confess Him with our mouth and believe in our heart that God did raise Jesus from the dead. However, it is also written, “Without His Spirit, you are none of His.” Many souls end up wandering the earth, because of these last two statements I just made. These wandering souls must face a certain judgment, which is mentioned within the Holy Bible. People like psychic Sylvia Brown are not lying when they claim to communicate with those who have crossed over into eternity, because there are in fact many among us. Like the little boy in the movie, The Sixth Sense, said, “I see dead people…They’re all around us,” many people (not me) have this ability. By the way, I don’t believe we should be communicating with the dead. There are some lines that should not be crossed, at least not purposely. Now, if you’ve had an out-of-body experience like I did well over fourteen years ago, that’s different. I didn’t plan on having that experience, it just happened. In fact, this same thing happened again in 2007 or maybe 2008, but at the time I didn’t recognize what had happened. I just dismissed it as another one of my wild dreams. Only several months ago did it really dawn on me what had exactly happened. My spirit body had lifted out of my body, and went to a place that it should not have gone, and yes, I had all of my senses. I could see, feel, smell, I had breath, I had wind, and I felt the wind. And this experience happened so quick and so sudden that it was absolutely mind-boggling. Unlike the physical body, your spirit body has no boundaries and can go anywhere and can travel fast, in fact. Quite fast, you’ll be surprised. I’m not just sitting here risking my reputation and just making stuff up, even though I’m a very good fiction writer. However, this isn’t fiction. This is real. There are those who don’t believe in the afterlife, and only believe that once we’re dead, we’re dead. We just go into total blackness, and that’s it. This is ludicrous thinking because there’s evidence – scientific and paranormal – that many dead people exist among us. Not all dead people have a resting place or a permanent place. And of course, these places would be Heaven or Hell.

I can boldly say today that Michael Jackson is not in Hell. Why? I got wind of a story over a month ago and has heard it repeated again by other credible sources that Michael Jackson was visited by a friend who happens to be a pastor only days before he died. Word is, Michael Jackson had actually given his life to Jesus before he died. And Jesus is not going to turn away anybody who comes to Him in repentance. It doesn’t matter what kind of person you’ve been throughout the years. There is also word that Michael Jackson had become a Muslim several years ago. I even heard a song that he did talking about his love for Allah, but Michael Jackson got saved by Jesus before he left this world. Remember that Michael Jackson was a devout Jehovah’s Witness many years ago before he left the organization in the late 1980s, so he has always had knowledge of Jesus. The Lord Jesus gives many people a second chance, and Michael Jackson has been given a second chance and not just because he was such a good person. He was given that second chance, because he acknowledged Jesus again shortly before he died. Now, if you don’t believe any of this, do your own research. Don’t just take my word for it.

Author’s Note:

If there’s anybody currently reading this article who can find it in their hearts (whether celebrities or businesspeople) to sponsor me in providing the funds needed to republish all of my books so that I could get my home-based self-publishing business off the ground, it would be greatly appreciated and I would be eternally thankful to you. Consider your giving an investment in a venture that will help mentor many individuals around the world. This is what I do best; mentor people through my writing, even though I’ve been known to also crack down on people. I love you all.
