SPIRITUAL MINDED MAGAZINE

da total urban experience wit da sanctified swagga

I am so tired of the discussion in and out of church about the way girls dress. In church some don't want pants or the skirt is too short. Some want you to cover every part of your skin. If you walk through the mall you can see enough skin to last you through church anyway.
You would think if the presence of God is in the church the men could keep their eyes on Him for an hour. If men can't keep their eyes off girls in church what is the use of releasing them when its over, so they can go to hell; I mean Walmart and sin?
I'm a christian woman and I don't want to walk around looking like my grandma. I don't think I'm all that but I do want my husband to send me second looks.
Christian women who have let themselves go or don't feel good about themselves hide behind the rule that they are more sanctified by dressing old. While the Christian men are sneaking peeks at those bad women online or in the stores.
Why can't we just step it up and look good, women of God. I know real beauty is in the inside but I say, let it out so somebody can see it.
Looking good is not letting your body parts fall out of your clothes but if you are young and shopping at Lane Bryants just to look spiritual, please.
I know I am going to get some flack, but bring it on... and I will bring it back.
Holla at a sista.

Prina, thanks for your comments. Church is very controversial and you made some valid points when it comes to the building. I have to admit...as a preachers kid, I don't have much respect for the institution of church. But Christ does have a bride...which he calls the body of Christ. And his bride is beautiful. Many of those that are a part of that body you will find on this site. You are a part of that beautiful body of Christ too. I pray that you will stay connected with the body even if church is not for you.
Your sis, Kim

Ok wow I am like shocked coming from a woman. I believe come as you are. CHURCH SHOULDN'T BE ABOUT SHOW ANYWAY. Matter of fact I stopped going to church, because I ended up finding there's more mess in church then it is outside and this is coming from a PREACHER'S DAUGHTER. To much judgement, discrimination, people wanting to point fingers, looking for a husband or wife when they suppose to be there for the word smh. However these are the same people that will walk by a homeless person in need. Better yet I was homeless and had a church close there doors and told me they wouldn't help me, because I was a member and my dad help start the church. Please church nowadays just became a place where people hide behind to do there dirt.

I don't go to church and I do more then then alot of church folks. I live and breathe love which to me is god. Smh! Not everyone in church is bad, but I don't need no church to tell me how to treat people and I don't care about what people are wearing who cares when u are suppose to be there for god. Someone always and will always have something to say, but church is suppose to be the one place where u could praise in peace and be as one. Smh! please I haven't been in church over 10 years and won't go back. At the end of the day "ONLY GOD CAN JUDGE ME" and I am not giving no 10% in the offering plate when I give over 10% daily.

Thanks for the topic. It's been great to release.

Much Luv!

Like Job (31:1) said " i've made a covenant with my eyes."
What good wil it do to say to a woman not to wear something in church what they do wear outside.

church is not the holy place, the people make it holy because it's a hol nation residing in it. It's not the wa ou dress, it's the use of knowledge of the word and wisdom that appeals on your lifestyle.

Off course i want my woman to dress the best she can. And she doesn't turn me on while dressing almost " burka style". she's in balance so she knows that hang out bodyparts is not the way. i allwas telling her :" baby dress up and shop for the stuff that makes you feel good while strolling the streets doing whatever you need to do to represent our being. (she has to anyway because she's a local politician)

so i feel you sister.
thank you for sharing.

Thanks Jeremie you made some great points. "It's in a mans nature to look at a women," can be perfectly balanced with....It's in a womans nature to attract the attention of a man.
This could be a vicious merry-go-round...who could stop it?

OK it took me five days to marinate on this topic.Well my stance is the way women dress in and out of church is ri-darn-diculous. To me the values of this world are slipping. I feel we are both responsible for this. However I feel that we are responsible because they put the clothes on to go to there destination. It's in a mans nature to look at a women. Not with lust, but with a respect to what beauty God has made. I have been with my pastor in the pulpit many times and I have seen the distractions. Truthfully it was hard to not see it. But in any setting it is innappropriate. Their is so much hurt going on in the younger generation today. That it affects every facet of our lives. Younger women today need encouragement from the elders to have a sense of pride and self-worth about themselves. My wife and I had a discussion about this like a year ago. When two young ladies had on innappropriate attire at the Crabtree Mall in Raliegh,NC. Two older women stop them and gave them a lecture about what they were wearing. To me they were trying to get attention. However in the wrong way. Our children are cryingout. It's up to us to listen.
